The Story Behind Tucson Flyer

Hi, I’m Scott Stewart, founder of Tucson Flyer and owner of Community Flights, our parent company.
Since 1989, I’ve worked in the airline and tourism industries, helping communities and airports improve air service across the U.S.

My travel journey began right here in Tucson, when I first flew from Hartford, Connecticut to attend the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). The desert heat that hit me on arrival in 1979 was unforgettable — and so began my lifelong passion for air travel.

✈️ From Airline Insider to Traveler Advocate

In 1989, I joined American Airlines, working in nearly every department — from reservations to international sales to airport management.
The job came with flight benefits, which ignited a lifelong obsession with travel.

After American, I worked with Reno Air, Purgatory Resort, and Telluride Ski Resort, eventually founding Community Flights, helping destinations grow their air service and tourism.

These experiences gave me a unique insider’s view of how the airline industry really works — and how travelers can use that knowledge to their advantage.
